Why Use Just Anyone to Write Your Resume?

resume

Many people claim to know how to write a resume, but have never done any significant hiring. Ever. How can they possibly write a resume and know what a hiring manager wants if they’ve never hired anyone?

Many people have never done any marketing, and yet fundamentally, that is what a resume is. I have recruited. I have hired. I have marketed.

My resume services are outstanding because…

  • I don’t use templates. Many resume writing services do.
  • I customize your resume and cover letter to focus on what you are going after.
  • I’m a Certified Career Coach™ and a Certified Executive Career Coach™.
  • I’m a nationally certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR, SPHR-CA).
  • I hold a Master’s degree in management from a top three US university.
  • I have over 20 years of professional and senior level human resources management experience in all facets of human resources, including significant experience the recruiting/hiring/talent management function.

I’ve worked in the following Fortune 250 industries (actual or similar): higher education (public and private), banking, entertainment (major movie studio), local government, and real estate; and, in the following non-Fortune industries: technology services, food services, legal services, and retail.

I’ve personally hired in the following fields:

  • Information Technology
  • Research
  • Laboratory
  • Intellectual Property
  • Legal
  • Nursing and Health
  • Pharmacy
  • Executive Management
  • Clinical services (Social Work, Psychology, Pharmaceutical, Student and Patient services)
  • Finance
  • Accounting
  • Marketing
  • Sales
  • Human Resources (of course!)

I Know What’s Needed to Get Your Resume Read.

My clients have worked in government, real estate, higher education, non-profit, Fortune 100, 250, 500, and 1,000 organizations of various types, and have worked functionally in information technology, intellectual property, administrative, clerical, marketing, human resources, real estate, billing, customer service, engineering, and the like.

In my career, I estimate that I’ve reviewed over 300,000 resumes, conducted over 10,000 interviews, and hired thousands of people at all levels. I have also prepared hundreds of resumes for people at all career levels in a wide variety of fields.

I do not believe that any serious resume writer can write a comprehensive, effective marketing document (which is what a resume is) in 24-48 hours; there is simply no time to explore all of your unique talents, experiences, skills, and abilities.

Do you want a resume that increases your confidence level and that gives you a feeling that you may be on the right track? Wouldn’t you agree that seeing both sides of the employment mirror provides expertise rarely found?

Would it be helpful to have a resume that:

  • Is written for the position
  • Reflects and showcases your abilities and results that reflect those desired by the hiring manager
  • Shows your abilities in a way that is obvious and clear to the reader
  • Highlights those abilities expressed in accomplishments from previous experiences and positions

The bottom line: I’d rather get it right than just get it done.
